At Christ Church South Cambs, we are committed to four things...

1) We are committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour

Martha, one of Jesus first disciples, said to Jesus, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

JOHN 11:27
‘Doubting’ Thomas stopped doubting! He acknowledged Jesus: “My Lord and my God!”

JOHN 20:28

2) We are committed to the Bible as God's word

Two of Jesus’ most significant apostles (men who were personally trained and taught by Jesus) wrote the following:

“All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”

Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16

“No prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

Peter in 2 Peter 1:20-21

3) We are committed to evangelism

Jesus’ final commanded to his followers was this:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Matthew 28:18-20

4) We are committed to one another as God's family

…through our friendship
“Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Hebrews 10:24-25

“Love one another earnestly from a pure heart.”

1 Peter 1:22

…through our prayer

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us …”

Colossians 4:2-4

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy.”

Philippians 1:3-4

…through our serving

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another.”

1 Peter 4:10

“There are varieties of service but the same Lord.”

1 Corinthians 12:5

…through our giving

“Each of you is to put something aside (in keeping with his income).”

1 Corinthians 16:2

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”

2 Corinthians 9:6
